This workshop is an ALBA initiative co-funded by ALBA and the Grupo Especializado en Nanociencia y Materiales Moleculares from the Real Sociedad Española de la Química (RSEQ) and the Real Sociedad Española de la Física (RSEF).

ALBA, the first Spanish synchrotron, is currently offering new experimental tools for the scientific community in Spain and all over the world. One of its main objectives is to promote the use of synchrotron radiation among those researchers still unfamiliar with this instrumentation and its possibilities. Thus, our goal is to describe the available tools and potential of the current ALBA beamlines to the Spanish scientific community.

This scientific activity will be held at the ALBA Synchrotron Light Source in Cerdanyola del Vallès, near Barcelona, and will consist of a two day meeting at the end of this year, starting on November 13th and finishing on November 14th. During the first day the attendants will learn about synchrotron radiation and the current experimental endstations at ALBA and will get a complete overview of all the experimental possibilities from all, the current beamlines and the future ones. On the second day, a poster exhibition will take place, where the attendants will give an overview of their main research topics in order to discuss with ALBA scientific staff about the different techniques that the synchrotron can offer to fulfill their scientific objectives. After that, those interested will visit the current beamlines at the ALBA Experimental Hall.

If you would like to present a poster, please use the following abstract template and send to ALBAsync2014@cells.es. Please note that we will only accept one poster per participant. The poster session is intended to make the beamline staff know more about the research topics of the participants, thus facilitating the discussion about particular experiments which can be carried out at ALBA.

Submission deadline: November 10th 2014

Poster size: Ideally 180cm x 130cm (height x width), provided by the research group. Other sizes will be accepted too.
