Poster Preparation Guidelines

FORMAT & SIZE

  • Size should be A0 or similar format around 80x120 cm, in portrait orientation.
  • All posters must be in PDF format. Ideal settings to ensure good printing quality are: PDF/A, image resolution 150 dpi, JPEG compression 90%.
  • You can bring your poster printed. In case you need it, you can also ask the organization to print the poster (free of charge). To do so, you need to send an e-mail before 01/09/2022 to amartinez@cells.es.

CONTENT

  • The content of the poster will be public. Bear in mind that, if your poster includes confidential data, you should upload a simplified version.
  • All posters must be uploaded in PDF in this website, attached to your contribution. This material will be only accessible for people registered in the conference. See below instructions of how to do it.
  • Deadline for uploading the poster is 02/09/2022.
  • You need to complete and sign the declaration of authorship before 05/09/2022.

LOCATION

  • The posters will be placed in the coffee-break, lunch and the sponsors area in specific structures. Each poster will be assigned to one of these structures (the name of the poster and the main author will be visible).
  • You can bring your own fixing material. However, doubled-side adhesive tape and tacks will be available onsite.

 

How to upload a PDF in your contribution

  1. Login with user and password
  2. Go to the left menu My Conference – My Contributions
  3. Select your contribution and add Presentation materials, by clicking on the PENCIL icon
  4. Upload the file
  5. Important! Select Protection level only for Registrants (see image below)

How to upload your poster in Indico

Poster Awards

During the gala dinner on Wednesday 7th September 2022, three poster awards will be given:

  • Best poster selected by AUSE, awarded with 500€. The poster must report a research study using synchrotron light.
  • Best poster selected by ALBA, awarded with 500€. The poster must report a research study using synchrotron light at any of the ALBA Synchrotron beamlines.
  • Best poster in terms of science communication. Selected by Lightsources.org and awarded with 500USD. The goal is to award the poster that most effectively uses visual design elements (fonts, colour, images/figures, layout, flow etc.) to communicate the scientific results.

Important! The poster evaluation must include the author or co-author presentation. Contributors must be available during the poster sessions to present their results (5 minutes presentation, on average).
