 struction of a new 4th generation\, high brilliance\, light source is a ch
 allenge involving the whole Facility: tight requirements are given to Infr
 astructure\, to Machine\, and to Beamlines\; Procurement Office has to man
 age a great number of procurement procedures\, often for highly specialize
 d components available only in foreign countries\; the Project Management 
 requires close support from Planning\, Administration\, and HR. In additio
 n\, logistics and materials-handling staff are put under considerable stra
 in by the volume of material they have to manage and store\, whilst crane 
 operators and other staff have to handle delicate yet bulky and/or heavy c
 omponents in very confined spaces\, with a margin for error of just a few 
 millimeters...Upgrading a 3rd generation light source adds to the above th
 e complication of having to manage a much larger quantity of material simu
 ltaneously\, along with the additional issues related to its disposal (whi
 ch often presents an opportunity to derive economic benefit) or - in the c
 ase of potentially activated parts - its temporary storage pending the ins
