Description

Abstract

National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS in Kraków is the most modern and largest multidisciplinary research facility in Poland. The funds for constructing the Centre were granted in 2010 – from the European Regional Development Fund, as part of the Innovative Economy Operational Program.

The green field project based on the MAX IV 1.5 GeV ring design was completed in December 2015. First users were accepted in 2018. As a strategic investment for the development of science, SOLARIS has been included on the Polish Roadmap for Research Infrastructures. SOLARIS can deliver synchrotron radiation for up to 18 beamlines from bending magnets and insertion devices.

The presentation, apart of the brief history of SOLARIS, its configuration and the key parameters will focus on the status of the facility, research infrastructure currently available for users and plans for the future  development of SOLARIS.
