Description
Abstract
Diamond is the UK’s national 3rd generation synchrotron light source and welcomed its first users in 2007. Since beginning with an initial complement of 7 insertion device beamlines, the number has now increased to the present value of 35, each of which are tailored to the requirements of a different user community. In order to accommodate this increase, several modifications have been made to the storage ring structure and a variety of operational modes have been developed. This talk gives an overview of this development and highlights some of the steps taken to optimise the performance. The talk concludes with a brief discussion on options for a possible future upgrade of the storage ring.
