Abstract

In this talk, I will start with an introdution of the basic of the synchrotron powder diffraction technique. What is a powder?  What signal is collected? What information do we extract? I will describe the instrumental aspects of a powder diffraction beamline and insist on key parameters for optimizing. Finally I will list some examples taken from various scientific fields.
